Ingredients

  • 50 g (2oz) butter
  • 50 g (2oz) plain flour
  • 568 ml carton milk
  • Grated nutmeg
  • Salt and freshly ground back pepper to season

Method

  1. Put butter, plain flour and milk in a microwaveable bowl.
  2. Use a balloon whisk to whisk together
  3. Microwave on high in an 800W oven for 5 min, whisking every 1min, until smooth and thickened.
  4. Season with grated nutmeg, salt and freshly ground back pepper.
