Ingredients

  • 6 ounces margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 table spoon golden syrup
  • 1 level teasonpoon bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tables spoons of boiling water
  • pinch of salt

Method

  1. Melt margarine and syrup in a sauce pan
  2. Disolve the bicarbonate of soda in the boiling water and add to first mixture
  3. Mix flour, oats, salt and sugar then pour syrup mixture on to them
  4. Put small piles of the mixture onto a well greased baking tray leaving space for them to spread out
  5. Bake at 160°C for 20 - 25 minutes
